Weekly Maritime Incident Summary 12 -18 December 2023

The Securewest International Global Response Centre (GRC) recorded 31 maritime-related
incidents during the reporting period of 12 – 18 December 2023. The following incidents were recorded:

• 13-DEC-23 – Approach – Unidentified vessel approached 90nm south of Al Duqm, Gulf of Oman.
• 13-DEC-23 – Attack – Oil tanker ARDMORE ENCOUNTER targeted by missiles near Bab al-Mandab strait, Yemen.
• 13-DEC-23 – Migrant & Refugee Incident – 145 migrants rescued off the coast of Izmir, Turkey.
• 13-DEC-23 – Approach – MV approached 50nm SW of Al Hudaydah, Yemen.
• 14-DEC-23 – Hijack – MV RUEN hijacked in Arabian Sea.
• 14-DEC-23 – Maritime Information Advisory – Irregular activity offshore Al Hudaydah, Yemen.
