Weekly Maritime Incident Summary 09 – 15 July 2024

The Securewest International Global Response Centre (GRC) recorded 15 maritime-related
incidents during the reporting period of 09 July – 15 July 2024. The following incidents were recorded:

  • 09-JUL-24 – Migrant and refugee Incident – 419 migrants cross the English Channel.
  • 09-JUL-24 – Attack -Underway container ship MAERSK SENTOSA attacked 180nm east of Nishtun, Yemen.
  • 10-JUL-24 – Attack – Explosion observed near underway tanker MOUNT FUJI, Red Sea.
  • 10-JUL-24 – Migrant and refugee Incident – Greek coast guard rescues 22 migrants in the Aegean.
  • 11-JUL-24 – Attack -Explosions near a vessel in the Red Sea.
  • 11-JUL-24 – General Security Warning – US CentCom forces target five USVs in the Red Sea.
  • 11-JUL-24 – Migrant and refugee Incident – 62 migrants rescued whilst crossing the English Channel.
  • 11-JUL-24 – Migrant and refugee Incident – 74 migrants rescued and detained off Izmir, Turkey.
  • 11-JUL-24 – Migrant and refugee Incident – 108 migrants detained off Mulga, Turkey.
  • 12-JUL-24 – Migrant and refugee Incident – Migrant boat capsizes off Boulogne, France.
  • 12-JUL-24 – Migrant and refugee Incident – Greek coast guard rescues migrants in Aegean.
  • 12-JUL-24 – Migrant and refugee Incident – 44 migrants detected crossing the English Channel.
  • 13-JUL-24 – Migrant and refugee Incident – 127 migrants detected crossing the English Channel.
  • 15-JUL-24 – Attack -Vessel attacked by skiffs in the southern Red Sea.
  • 15-JUL-24 – Attack -Vessel hit by a UAV in the Red Sea
