The Securewest International Global Response Centre (GRC) recorded 20 maritime-related
incidents during the reporting period of 09 – 15 April 2024. The following incidents were recorded:
- 09-APR-24 – Suspicious Approach – Suspicious approach in Arabian sea.
- 09-APR-24 – Drugs Interdiction – Over 1500 packages of drugs intercepted in Manzanillo International Terminal, Panama.
- 09-APR-24 – Drugs Interdiction – Eight kilos of suspected cocaine found in Ting Kau, Hong Kong.
- 09-APR-24 – Migrant and Refugee Incident – 22 migrants rescued of the coast of Djibouti.
- 09-APR-24 – Attack – USS MASON intercepted missile targeting MAERSK YORKTOWN in the Gulf of Aden.
- 10-APR-24 – Boarding – Yacht boarded in Saint Martin, Caribbean Sea.
- 10-APR-24 – Attack – US forces intercepted a UAV in the Red Sea.
- 10-APR-24 – Migrant and Refugee Incident – 14 migrants rescued off the island of Chios, Greece.
- 10-APR-24 – Migrant and Refugee Incident – Rescue services intercept 59 migrants in the central Mediterranean.
- 10-APR-24 – Robbery – Unsecure dinghy stolen from yacht, Simpson Bay Lagoon, Sint Maarten.
- 11-APR-24 – Attack – US forces intercept missile launched over the Red Sea.
- 12-APR-24 – Migrant and Refugee Incident – Bodies of migrants discovered off southeast coast of Spain.
- 12-APR-24 – Robbery – Tanker SOLAR ROMA robbed at Balikpapan anchorage, Indonesia.
- 13-APR-24 – Hijacking – Cargo vessel MSC ARIES seized by Iranian forces 50 nm NE of Fujairah, UAE.
- 13-APR-24 – Drugs Interdiction -H.M.S. LANCASTER intercepts almost £33 million worth of drugs in Indian Ocean.
- 13-APR-24 – Migrant and Refugee Incident – 214 migrants intercepted in the English Channel.
- 13-APR-24 – Drugs Interdiction -Drugs interdiction offshore southern Sri Lanka.
- 13-APR-24 – Boarding – Bulk carrier CASANOVA boarded underway in Singapore strait TSS
- 14-APR-24 – Migrant and Refugee Incident – 534 migrants intercepted in the English Channel.
- 15-APR-24 – Migrant and Refugee Incident – 37 migrants intercepted off Cyprus.
