Unrivalled Maritime Security Solutions
Throughout the year, our team has been facilitating the safe navigation of vessels across the globe. For example, our Maritime Assistance Centre (MAC) promptly reacted to a Ship Security Alert System (SSAS) activation. A rig in the Bay of Campeche, Gulf of Mexico, reported an ongoing attack, with gunshots heard from beneath the structure, indicating at least two perpetrators. Our Global Response Centre (GRC) swiftly addressed the alert, ensuring the safety and security of all personnel on board.
Navigating Safety with Travel Risk Management
Since January 1, 2023, our GRC has dispatched 14,600 travel alerts through our advanced SPHERE app. These alerts have served as vital notifications, offering real-time information and guidance to travellers. In February, we collaborated closely with a pair of Research Managers who were organising an expedition for a project in Pakistan. After lengthy consultations with Securewest, the researchers took the advice of our Intelligence Officer to cancel the trip.
Smart and Secure Insights with Intelligence Reports/Risk Assessments
A notable instance this year involved a client in the luxury cruise liner sector. Concerns arose regarding scheduled stops in Israel due to media reports about rocket firings from Gaza and Lebanon, coupled with a second Israeli raid on al-Aqsa mosque, indicating escalating tensions. Prioritising passenger and crew safety during shore visits, the cruise liner sought Securewest’s expertise. Our team delivered a tailored threat assessment for Israel, focusing on ports and specific areas of interest to the client.
Another Year Achieving Maritime and Coastguard Agency Approval
In October 2023, our STWC Proficiency in Security Awareness (PSA) and Proficiency for Seafarers with Designated Security Duties (PDSD) courses received official reapproval from the Maritime and Coastguard Agency (MCA), an executive agency of the United Kingdom tasked with implementing British and international maritime laws and safety policies. Securing this endorsement is a source of pride for us, underscoring the elevated quality of our online Maritime Training Courses.
Providing 24/7 Training Support to Seafarers and Travellers Around the World
Since January this year, our dedicated team has successfully processed over 1800 courses, reflecting our commitment to continuous learning and skill development. Our GRC operates around the clock, throughout the year, enabling the swift assessment of training materials and certificate turnaround.

We are delighted to share that in 2023, we achieved a 100% client renewal rate. Our year-on-year growth since the onset of COVID-19 can be attributed to our renowned reputation for delivering high-quality services at a competitive price.
Excellence Certified with the International Organization for Standardization (ISO) Audit
