The Securewest International Global Response Centre (GRC) recorded 6 maritime related incidents during the reporting period of 3 – 9 May 2022.
The following incidents were recorded:
- 05-MAY-22 – Suspicious Approach – MV approached in the Arabian Sea.
- 05-MAY-22 – Robbery – Kayak and SUP stolen from yacht in Falmouth Harbour, Antigua.
- 08-MAY-22 – Migrant and Refugee Incident – 44 drown off Morocco.
- 09-MAY-22 – Migrant and Refugee Incident – 13 migrants rescued off Canary Islands.
- 09-MAY-22 – Migrant and Refugee Incident – 40 migrants intercepted in the English Channel.
- 09-MAY-22 – Migrant and Refugee Incident – 145 migrants rescued off Libya.
Suspicious Approach: All other unexplained activity in close proximity by an unknown vessel. |
Robbery: Theft from a vessel or from persons aboard the vessel. |
Migrant and Refugee Incident: This could involve Search and Rescue (SAR) operations, or information about a boat capsizing and people drowning, or an attack on the group. |
