The Securewest International Global Response Centre (GRC) recorded eight maritime related incidents during the reporting period of 5 – 11 October 2020.
- 05-OCT-20 – General Security Warning – UKMTO reported that Iranian military forces will be conducting a military exercise with live firings in the Persian Gulf east of Larak. Link to report.
- 06-OCT-20 – General Security Warning – UKMTO reported that Iranian military forces will be conducting a military exercise with live firing in the vicinity south of ABU MUSA and BANDAR ABBAS. Link to report.
- 06-OCT-20 – Robbery – A MV was robbed in Pointe Noire Anchorage. Vessel and crew reported safe.
- 08-OCT-20 – Boarding – An anchored bulk carrier was boarded Macapa Anchorage, Brazil. Two intruders boarded and broke into the forecastle store. The crew mustered and the intruders escaped without stealing anything.
- 09-OCT-20 – Boarding – An unnamed motor vessel was boarded by two intruders in Lagos Port, Gulf of Guinea. The duty watchmen raised the alarm and the intruders escaped. The vessel and crew were reported as being safe.
- 09-OCT-20 – Migrant and Refugee – Home Office reported that French authorities intercepted two boats with 16 migrants on board and prevented a further 18 migrants from leaving the shore.
- 09-OCT-20 – Migrant and Refugee – Home Office reported that three boats with 56 migrants on board were intercepted in the English Channel.
